David Corenswet stepped in to shield Supergirl actress Milly Alcock from paparazzi in a viral video. The video spread fast on social media as comments flooded in praising Corenswet’s “Superman” move. Having first donned the cape as Superman in 2025’s Superman, he lived up to the Man of Steel off-screen as well.
Internet reacts to David Corenswet apparently shielding Milly Alcock from paparazzi in video
David Corenswet won over fans after stepping in to protect Milly Alcock from a paparazzi swarm in viral footage. At the World premiere of Supergirl, held in Brooklyn, New York, on Monday, June 22, 2026, Corenswet and Alcock were chatting casually near the paparazzi line, trading smiles between flashes. That’s when a photographer reached out and put his hands on the House of the Dragon actress’s back, trying to reposition her for a shot.
The Superman star, however, clocked it immediately. He stepped in without hesitation, blocking the photographer and creating space between Alcock and the cameras. Reactions have been pouring in since the Home of DCU posted the exchange on X ( formerly Twitter).
“David is superman both in the movies and in real life,” tweeted a fan. “God, I love how David jumped in instantly,” echoed another. “I dont think there was any malice intended behind that but he definitely shouldn’t be doing that,” reasoned an X user. “The job description says ‘take pictures,’ not ‘reposition human beings,” read a supportive comment.
Milly Alcock stars as Kara Zor-El in DC Studios’ Supergirl, arriving in North American theaters and IMAX on June 26, 2026, and rolling out internationally from June 24. Directed by Craig Gillespie, the movie marks the second major release in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s rebooted DC Universe. It follows Superman, which was released in July 2025 and marked David Corenswet’s debut in the role.
Besides Alcock, Corenswet appears in the upcoming release as Clark Kent, aka Superman, while Jason Momoa plays Lobo. Matthias Schoenaerts is Krem of the Yellow Hills, and Eve Ridley portrays Ruthye Marye Knoll. David Krumholtz plays Zor-El, Supergirl’s father, and Emily Beecham is Alura In-Ze, her mother. Ferdinand Kingsley rounds out the lineup as Elias Knoll.
