Jelly Roll says he was hospitalized before divorce
Jelly Roll admitted that he was reportedly hospitalized before his divorce news became public. Roll shared on TikTok on June 10: “I went to the hospital last night in Charlotte, North Carolina… Shout out to that whole hospital. They literally got me on my feet for the show.”
Roll explained that he barely made it through his show at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on June 9 due to a sinus infection. He shared that he had to take urgent medical treatment at a local hospital. Unfortunately, the country singer had to miss his performance at Post Malone’s concert.
The 41-year-old recalled, “I’m telling you, I was puffy-faced. It was bad, dude. The sinus infection was bad. Now, I’m all jacked up because they gave me a bunch of steroids! It was the first night since I’ve been touring with Post that I wasn’t able to come out and sing “Losers” with him because I just barely got through my show.”
Moreover, the country singer shared that Malone sent him a bouquet and a get-well-soon card. The “Wild Ones” hitmaker profusely thanked Malone for his kind gesture.
As per documents viewed by PEOPLE, Roll filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo in Williamson County, Tennessee, on May 18. The news of the divorce came as a shock for fans because just a couple of months back, the pair attended the Grammy Awards in February. Roll won the Best Contemporary Country Album.
The 41-year-old singer sweetly credited his wife for his success in his winning speech. Roll shared, “I want to thank my beautiful wife. I would have never changed my life without you.” Furthermore, he added, “I would have ended up dead or in jail. I would have killed myself if it wasn’t for you and Jesus. I thank you for that.”
