Prince Harry’s hopes of sitting down with his father, King Charles, have reportedly hit a “nightmare” roadblock. According to recent news reports, the long-awaited reunion has been put on hold once again. Their most recent in-person meeting took place at Clarence House in September 2025 and lasted roughly an hour.
Prince Harry reportedly facing difficulties in his meeting plans with King Charles
Prince Harry is reportedly facing an uphill struggle after King Charles declined to lock in a date for a summer meeting. The Duke of Sussex plans to fly to the UK before the July 2027 Invictus Games. During that trip, he hopes to set up a private meeting with his father.
But according to Heat World, the King has grown more cautious about his youngest son’s motives. This shift came after a March interview in which someone close to Harry spoke to the British media. At that time, the source said that the Prince would accept a Sandringham invitation. However, he would base his decision on who attends. The insider also noted that Harry won’t bring Archie and Lilibet to Britain unless the palace provides a stronger security package for them.
The next month, Harry and Meghan Markle used their royal titles for business deals. The 44-year-old used her Duchess title for a paid appearance at a Melbourne women’s wellness retreat. Many saw this as breaking the 2020 Sandringham Summit deal. That agreement said that the Sussexes wouldn’t profit from their royal titles.
Commenting on the King’s shift in stance, a separate palace source added, “After all these months of discussing this visit as though it was guaranteed to be happening, the conversation has now drastically shifted and Harry is getting the run-around. [The King’s] aides are refusing to nail down a date or send his schedule, they keep making excuses and Charles is backing them up so there isn’t much for Harry to say. It’s a total nightmare [for him]. He’s devoted so much time and energy to building a bridge with his father and now it’s all looking like it might have been for naught.”
