Prince Harry paid a surprise visit to the NBA Finals last week. The Duke of Sussex attended Game Five of the 2026 NBA Finals between the Knicks and Spurs. As per a source, his wife, Meghan Markle, isn’t happy about his seating arrangement.
Meghan Markle didn’t like Prince Harry’s seats in NBA game, sources suggest
According to Rob Shuter, Meghan Markle isn’t happy about Prince Harry’s seating arrangement at the NBA game. Unlike other celebrities grabbing courtside seats, the Duke of Sussex was sitting eight rows behind. This reportedly has left the Duchess of Sussex disappointed. “Meghan notices everything when it comes to image,” a source told the outlet. They further explained, “To her, seating is status. It’s not just about watching a game — it’s about who sees you watching the game.”
According to insiders, the issue was about perception, not basketball. “Meghan believes Harry is one of the most recognizable men in the world. When he’s sitting behind celebrities instead of beside them, she sees it as a message,” the source stated. Moreover, the Suits alum allegedly can’t neglect the fact that Prince William and Princess Kate might have bagged the front seats. “Meghan knows Prince William and Princess Kate would have been offered front-row treatment,” a royal insider shared.
On the other hand, Harry reportedly doesn’t care about this issue. “Harry loved the game and barely gave the seating a second thought. That’s the difference between them. He sees a basketball game. Meghan sees a brand,” a friend told Rob Shuter.
Things allegedly got intense after Harry’s awkward courtside interaction with Spike Lee ended up making headlines. “Image is everything to Meghan,” another source said. They continued, “She believes every appearance sends a message. In her world, where you sit matters almost as much as who’s playing.”
This is not the first time there have been headlines about Harry at a sports event. Recently, it was reported that the royal had been snubbed from the FIFA World Cup Final due to his former friend, David Beckham. An insider told Rob Shuter, “This isn’t about room on the guest list. Football picked its prince years ago, and that prince is David Beckham.”
