A new MCU rumor suggests one familiar hero may skip Avengers: Doomsday but return later. The report has sparked debate among fans because the character’s story remains unresolved. Marvel’s next two Avengers films are expected to bring together heroes from several realities. A fresh rumor, however, claims one established character could miss the first chapter and only appear in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Monica Rambeau rumored for Secret Wars but not Avengers: Doomsday
According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello, Monica Rambeau is expected to return to the MCU, though reportedly not in Avengers: Doomsday. The insider added that the situation could change depending on reshoots. Since Marvel Studios has not confirmed the claim, it remains speculation for now.
Monica, played by Teyonah Parris, first appeared as an adult in WandaVision. She later teamed up with Carol Danvers and Kamala Khan in The Marvels. At the end of that movie, Monica became stranded in another universe, where she encountered variants connected to the X-Men world. That ending set up a storyline many fans expected would continue in Avengers: Doomsday.
The rumor has left many fans puzzled. Several reactions questioned why Marvel would establish Monica’s rescue and then leave her out of the next Avengers film. Others argued that because she is trapped in the universe tied to the X-Men, her absence from Doomsday would be difficult to explain. Some fans, however, believe saving Monica, Carol Danvers and Kamala Khan for Avengers: Secret Wars would make more sense since Doomsday already has a crowded cast.
Marvel’s upcoming slate includes Avengers: Doomsday, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Avengers: Secret Wars and several Disney+ projects. Robert Downey Jr. is expected to lead Doomsday as Doctor Doom, while stars including Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Florence Pugh and Anthony Mackie are set to play major roles. Whether Monica appears in one or both Avengers movies remains one of the franchise’s biggest unanswered questions.
