A hit TV show has set the release date for its second season on Paramount+. The series, which premiered on BET+ in 2024, achieved a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. It was named as one of the best shows of the year by Rolling Stone, Variety, and Deadline. Now, as per the new reports, the second season is also among the key titles moving to the dedicated BET Hub on Paramount+.

The popular TV show that has received a Season 2 release date on Paramount+ is Diarra from Detroit. Season 1 followed Diarra Brickland, a retired schoolteacher, who was pulled into a mystery involving Detroit’s underworld after searching for her missing rebound Tinder date.
It received critical praise, especially for series lead Diarra Kilpatrick’s performance, the writing, and the unique blend of comedy and mystery. It was also nominated under multiple categories at the 2024 Black Reel Awards, 2025 Independent Spirit Awards, and 2025 NAACP Image Awards. Season 1 of Diarra from Detroit is available for streaming on Paramount+.
The upcoming season stars Kilpatrick, DomiNque Perry, Bryan Terrell Clark, and Jon Chaffin, with Shannon Wallace, Phylicia Rashad, and Harry Lennix returning. The official synopsis for the upcoming installment reads, “Season two finds Diarra Brickland trying — unsuccessfully — to have a hot girl summer without getting wrapped up in yet another deeply unserious and extremely dangerous Detroit mystery. This time around, what starts as a seemingly harmless furniture recovery mission quickly spirals into a triple homicide investigation, a citywide treasure hunt, and another trip deep into Detroit’s criminal underbelly.
As Diarra attempts to sort out her messy relationship status, she instead finds herself going undercover with a secret society, starring in a Tubi movie, chasing urban legends, dodging gang warfare, and uncovering secrets buried beneath the city itself. Because of course she does.”
The first two episodes of Diarra from Detroit Season 2 will premiere on Paramount+ on July 29, 2026. This will be followed by one new episode every Wednesday till September 9, 2026.
