Travis Kelce did not attend the Toy Story 5 premiere with Taylor Swift. The pop star appeared solo to support the animated film, greeting fans and interacting with cast members. She also took the moment to promote her original soundtrack song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” sharing it with fans at the event.
Here’s why Travis Kelce wasn’t present at the ‘Toy Story 5’ premiere with Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift showed up at the Los Angeles premiere of Pixar’s Toy Story 5 to back the animated movie, where she spotlighted her original soundtrack track centered on Jessie’s character arc. However, her fiancé, Travis Kelce, didn’t attend the premiere. The NFL star is currently tied up at the Kansas City Chiefs’ mandatory minicamp today from June 9 to June 11. The team’s X (formerly Twitter) account shared footage of Kelce practicing, captioning it “87 at work @tkelce.”
The clip sparked enthusiastic responses from fans, with one writing, “87 at work go go go.” “Starting on the strong feet,” echoed another. “The Best TE Ever!” read a hype comment.
Kelce put an end to months of retirement rumors after a disappointing season by announcing his return to the Chiefs for a 14th NFL season. The new contract is a one-year, $12 million deal that can reach $15 million with incentives. He credited his fiancée’s constant grind on her ongoing tours with motivating him to stick with football.
Swift and Kelce debuted as a pair at a music awards show in March, attending the iHeartRadio Music Awards. With Kelce in his offseason, the two linked up inside the ceremony. However, the soon-to-be-wedded couple hasn’t stepped on a red carpet together. Their most recent public appearance was on May 23 at the Knicks-Cavaliers matchup in Cleveland.
As for Toy Story 5, the film hits theaters worldwide on June 19, 2026. The original cast returns with Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Blake Clark, and Ernie Hudson. Meanwhile, new voices joining the lineup include Greta Lee, Alan Cumming, Bad Bunny, and Craig Robinson.
