‘Scary Movie’ movie star Anna Faris shares Melania Trump joke that didn’t make the final cut
Scary Movie 6 star Anna Faris revealed that a joke directed at Melania Trump didn’t make the final cut. The aforementioned joke was related to Melania’s “Be Best” campaign, launched in 2018. It was aimed at promoting children and teenagers’ well-being and at combating cyberbullying.
In an interview with Dexerto, Faris shared, “There was a moment where I’m getting just wasted, just so drunk, and I look — I’m in my truck, of course — and I look into the rearview mirror, and I say ‘Be best, Cindy Campbell. Be best.’ That didn’t make it, but I liked my little winking there.”
She added, “What are you going to do? Are you going to be mad at Cindy? I’m in a movie that is truly the most offensive movie ever made, and I’m the lead of it, and I participate in offensive ideas. I think I can kind of do anything. It liberated me.” Notably, Faris’ Cindy Campbell is depicted as a conservative in this installment of the long-running horror franchise.
Melania launched her ambitious awareness campaign in 2018, during President Trump’s first presidency (via PEOPLE). At the time, Melania shared, “I do believe that children should be both seen and heard. And it is our responsibility as adults to educate and remind them that when they are using their voices — either verbally or online — they must choose their words wisely and speak with respect and compassion.”
Critics have criticized Melania Trump’s campaign, particularly because President Donald Trump’s public behavior contradicts the campaign’s values. Melania promised to relaunch the campaign when her husband returned to the presidency in January 2025.
