Princess Diana’s letter shows her wish for Prince Harry and Prince William
A newly revealed letter from Princess Diana, which highlights her wishes for her sons, Prince Harry and Prince William, is going live on auction. The letter was written to a fan following her infamous BBC Panorama interview. It will be auctioned as part of Reeman Dansie’s Royalty, Antiques & Fine Art sale.
This letter was in response to a letter of support from a fan named Michael Barratt.
Diana’s note reportedly reflects “how touched she is by the contents and by his profound words, and in particular relates to his sentiments of self-knowledge and moving on in life.” The statement from Reeman Dansie further adds, “She hopes the Panorama interview will help other women in similar difficulties, and she looks forward to the future and sharing with and teaching William and Harry the importance of communication on a deeper level.”
“His supportive letter has been invaluable, and she thanks him very deeply. ‘With my best wishes, Yours sincerely, Diana,’ with original envelope with handwritten name and address details by the princess,” the company added about the letter.
The letter was dated November 27, 1995. Her infamous interview aired on November 20, 1995. At this time, Diana was separated from King Charles, who was then the Prince of Wales, for three years.
The couple welcomed Harry and William in 1982 and 1984, respectively, after marrying in 1981.
More details about this auction will arrive soon.
