Donald Trump has said that he may “never” remove the UFC cage from the White House lawn. In a new video, the president compared the structure to the Eiffel Tower. Trump had ordered the construction of the UFC “cage” for the upcoming UFC Freedom 250 event. The latter will take place on June 14, 2026, on the South Lawn of the White House.

In a recent TikTok video, Donald Trump suggested that he may never take down the UFC structure from the White House lawn.
“Many people don’t know that in Paris, France, the Eiffel Tower – 1889, it was built – it was supposed to be taken down immediately after the World’s Fair, and then they said, ‘you know, we sort of like it, let’s leave it up a little bit longer,’” Trump said in the video. “And then they said, ‘let’s leave it up longer and longer and longer’.”
The POTUS added, “Well, they never took it down, and you know we’re building something in front of the White House that’s quite attractive to a lot of people, it’s going to have the big UFC fight on June 14th, and I’m looking at it, and maybe we’ll never, ever take it down.”
Trump also said, “I’ve been involved in a lot of big events. I have never had an event that has had more interest than the UFC fight we have right at the front door.”
The “cage” or the Octagon, is the official stage for all mixed martial arts combat under UFC. According to UFC’s official website, “A robust plastic-coated fence eliminates the chance of athletes tumbling out of the Octagon, as they can in a traditional ring during boxing, kickboxing or Muay Thai bouts.”
The Octagon with an arched framework is being constructed at the White House for the UFC Freedom 250 MMA event. Commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, the event will feature six primetime fights.
