With Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s reported nuptials coming closer, experts are weighing in on her wedding playlist. To date, the singer has enthralled millions of followers by turning her life-defying moment into lyrics, and this time too, experts think the pop icon might drop a new song during her wedding with the NFL star.
Experts make predictions on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding playlist
While Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been tight-lipped about their wedding date and preparations for the big day, fans are well aware that music will be a huge part of their big day.
And due to this, an expert thinks that instead of picking an old song from her albums, the pop star might drop a new song for her first dance with Kelce. “As a wedding DJ, the first dance is always the moment where the couple shares their love story,” said Dominic Fournier, co-founder of The Wedding Duo, per Parade.
He further added that the Swift “wouldn’t just choose a song. She would probably write one specifically for that moment.” Moreover, since the singer usually marks “big chapters” of her life with music, Fournier is certain that the pop icon might debut “a brand new track during their first dance.”
Talking about the songs, the expert feels it might be “something stripped down, romantic and very storytelling-driven. Probably piano or acoustic guitar, lyrics about timing, fate and how their worlds unexpectedly collided.” He continued, “It would feel intimate, almost like the room is getting a private performance.”
However, wedding expert and head of brand at Bridebook, Zoe Burke, feels that she doesn’t “expect Taylor to dance to her own music.” Instead, she might go for “classic, inspired by ’90s rom-coms,” like “Etta James’ ‘At Last’ or ‘L.O.V.E.’ by Nat King Cole.”
While author Lindsey Smith thinks that if at all the singer picks from her catalogue, she and the NFL star could dance to the tune of “You Are in Love” as “Travis is a 1989 stan.” The song makes the “perfect scene of being in love (true love) and has the perfect cadence for a first dance song,” noted the expert.
