Prince William’s Soccer reportedly fuels King Charles’ tension
According to the Daily Mail‘s royal source, Prince William’s love for soccer might have worried King Charles. This is allegedly due to the king’s opposite views on the monarchical lifestyle. A royal source told the outlet William is “a 40-something bloke, well off, with a happy family, but all that currently waits for him is a metaphorical straitjacket and a very heavy crown.” The Prince of Wales is reportedly increasingly treasuring his “life with the lads” while being burdened with his role as the future heir to the throne.
William was reportedly chilling with his friends, Edward and Ben Dawes. The source called the meetings between the men “infrequent but cherished.” The trio reportedly travels abroad together at least once a year. In William’s off-duty moments, conversations about his present or “future roles allegedly are strictly off limits.” The conversations reportedly “revolve around family, their children, jobs and sport.” The source further explained, “Like all senior royals, he rarely lets his guard down with anyone. He is wary of getting too close to others.” They added, “His true inner circle is very select. They have no axes to grind and know how to behave.”
The source said the “Occasionally boisterous behaviour has to be toned down so as not to draw too much attention to themselves.” However, “these are sort of ‘let your hair down’ moments for William, who can’t act like this anywhere else.” William allegedly clashes with his father over views on the monarchy. His reluctance to tour abroad for official duties till something interests him personally is also allegedly concerning. He was reportedly ordered by the king to attend Pope Francis’s funeral after skipping Jimmy Carter’s funeral. While claims are endless, Prince William or King Charles has yet to speak up on their clashes.
