President Donald Trump slammed Democrats and what he described as “unpatriotic” Republicans for criticizing his handling of efforts related to the conflict involving Iran. The President said his critics should “sit back and relax” and expressed confidence that the situation would “work out well in the end.”
Donald Trump lashes out at ‘unpatriotic’ Democrats and Republicans
President Donald Trump once again used his social media platform, Truth Social, to criticize Democrats, whom he referred to as “Dumocrats,” and “unpatriotic Republicans” who have questioned his approach to negotiations and the conflict involving Iran.
“Iran really wants to make a deal, and it will be a good one for the U.S.A. and those that are with us,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “But don’t the Dumocrats, and various seemingly unpatriotic Republicans, understand that it is MUCH tougher for me to properly do my job and negotiate, when political hacks keep negatively “chirping,” at levels never seen before, over and over again, that I should move faster, or move slower, or go to war, or not go to war, or whatever.”
After criticizing his political opponents and detractors, Trump added, “Just sit back and relax, it will all work out well in the end – It always does! President DJT.”
Trump’s comments came shortly after statements from the United States Central Command regarding defensive strikes on Iranian radar systems. According to CENTCOM, the strikes took place on Saturday and Sunday in response to what it described as Iranian actions, including the reported shootdown of a U.S. MQ-1 drone operating over international waters.
“The measured and deliberate strikes occurred on Saturday and Sunday in response to aggressive Iranian actions that included the shootdown of a U.S. MQ-1 drone that was operating over international waters,” CENTCOM said. “CENTCOM will continue to protect U.S. assets and interests in response to unwarranted Iranian aggression during the ongoing ceasefire,” it further added.
Meanwhile, no imminent resolution to the war is visible yet. Perhaps the upcoming weeks will see some developments, but critics remain skeptical after the recent weeks.
