Donald Trump fan calls out merchandise issue
A buyer was left disappointed after receiving faulty Donald Trump merchandise. Tim Petit, from Middletown, Rhode Island, bought a $640 pink limited-edition Trump-themed watch from GetTrumpWatches.com for his wife, Melanie. Tim recalled that the pwatch was “one of 250,” which “attracted” him. However, after it arrived, the logo on the timepiece spelled “RUMP,” with the “T” missing. Speaking with NBC10, the couple expressed their disappointment over the error.
“I’m very disappointed. I wanted to do a special thing for her,” Tim said. “And we expected that it would have the integrity of the President of the United States and good follow-through. We would like this corrected properly and quickly,” he added. Tim went on to demand, “An apology would be nice for making my wife cry.”
Referring to the official website of the Trump watches, Tim recalled, “With the president’s voice hawking the watches. I was curious, so I went on to the website.” He further said, “I think that someone needs to be aware of it in their licensing department, that someone’s dropped the ball big time.”
Melanie added that they have not received any response from the company. The website clarifies that the company uses the “name, image and likeness” of Trump, and the watches are “not designed, manufactured, distributed or sold” by the president himself.
Most recently, Patrick Holland, the managing editor of tech site CNET, also criticized the phone. He stated, “If you did order this phone, it doesn’t matter what your political persuasion is; you shouldn’t be ripped off.” He further added that the product “looks nothing like the original image.”
