JD Vance’s chest bump moment with Air Force Cadet goes viral
JD Vance recently addressed all the graduates at the United States Air Force Academy. He delivered a speech, specifically congratulating them individually. Vance shared a handshake and salute with those who received their diplomas and are ready to embark on their journey as future airmen. However, one cadet engaged in an interesting interaction with the vice president that garnered widespread attention. This cadet stepped away from the handshake and chose to jump in the air and give Vance a chest bump. The moment was met with laughs from everyone around, including Vance. The cadet later left the stage joyfully.
During the ceremony, Vance revealed that he had watched the highlights of several graduation events, where prominent figures were met with boos when they spoke about AI. He elaborated, “You know, this is the only commencement speech that I’m giving this year and so I’ve watched a few highlights of graduation speeches where this or that corporate leader will discuss artificial intelligence, AI, and be met with literal boos.” However, he firmly said that the people at the ceremony aren’t allowed to boo him. This is because he’s the vice president of the United States. His remarks sparked laughter among the audience.
During the commencement ceremony speech, Vance remarked that he had earlier added in his notes how beautiful the morning in Colorado Springs was. However, upon noticing the gloomy weather later, he joked that the vice president and the speechwriters should check the weather before penning a speech.
