Tulsi Gabbard’s Bible Post Sparks Religion Clash With Laura Loomer

Tulsi Gabbard’s recent Bible post has seemingly irked Laura Loomer, a far-right political activist. Loomer took to social media to criticize Gabbard, alleging her of “pretending to be a Christian.” Both posts have garnered a wide range of responses.

Tulsi Gabbard’s bible post sparks backlash

On May 25, Tulsi Gabbard, the U.S. Director of National Intelligence (DNI), shared a verse from the bible on X (formerly Twitter). She wrote, “But my eyes are toward you, O God, my Lord; in you I seek refuge  – Psalm 141:8.”

This post has drawn significant backlash, including from investigative journalist Laura Loomer. She wrote, “It’s really interesting how @TulsiGabbard pretends to be a Christian. She did this at Charlie Kirk’s memorial too, if you recall. Tulsi is a lifelong Hindu. Yet nobody seems to know that. She should embrace it. This screenshot is from Tulsi Gabbard’s own YouTube channel.”

Loomer’s post has also caught the attention of thousands of users. One user who shared a similar opinion posted, “Why doesn’t she post something from Hinduism?”

However, most of the comments seem to defend Gabbard. One user responded, “You don’t need to be Christian to appreciate the wisdom found in Bible.”

A second user wrote, “Sick. Tulsi, a lifelong Hindu, can quote Psalm wisdom without ‘pretending’ Christianity—she’s always been open about her faith.”

“I follow you, this post is uncalled for…” another user replied.

A fourth user reasoned, “You can practice more than one religion, Laura. Constantly taking shots at a woman whose husband is battling cancer is a strange hill to die on. It comes across as tactless and needlessly cruel.”

Gabbard’s post came just days after she resigned from her position as DNI. It wasn’t a political move, but rather a personal one. In her May 22 post, she revealed that her husband, Abraham Williams, was recently diagnosed with a “rare form of bone cancer.” As a result, she is stepping down to spend time with her partner. She also noted that June 30, 2026, will be her last day in office.
