A Reacher spin-off‘s star has dropped an encouraging update on the show’s status after months of silence. This gives fans a sigh of relief as the show’s long-awaited release draws closer. Both the spin-off and Reacher Season 4 are expected to premiere later this year.
Reacher’s Neagley gets killer update from Maria Sten
Maria Sten, who plays Neagley in Amazon Prime Video’s Reacher, recently shared an update on her own spin-off’s release.
Earlier this week, Sten shared a short clip on Instagram that appears to show either her or her stunt double being lifted by a crane. In the caption, she wrote, “I know you guys are asking about #Neagley. We are getting closer, I promise! More info to come. Thank you for your patience.”
The actress continued, “It means so much to us that you are still excited. And I may be biased, but it’s worth the wait, cause we’re taking stuff to a whole new level and it’s KILLER. Know what I mean? ;)”
Named after the character, the show has been in development since October 2024. With little to no updates over the past few months, the latest information is likely to excite fans eagerly awaiting news. While this still doesn’t reveal the official release date, it does suggest the show is well on its way.
Unlike Reacher, which was more about a stoic former military investigator taking on undercover missions, Neagley will be a more personal story. “It’s so its own thing, but of course, true to the Reacher spirit. It’s Neagley, and it’s about her. It certainly is about what’s going on in her personal life, as well as her professional life,” the actress shared (via Collider).
Neagley is being developed by Nicholas Wootton and Nick Santora, the latter of whom served as Reacher’s showrunner. The supporting cast includes Greyston Holt, Jasper Jones, Adeline Rudolph, Matthew Del Negro, and Damon Herriman.
