Jensen Ackles has revealed that he had to walk out during the production of a particular scene in The Boys, seemingly because of its intensity.

Prime Video’s The Boys has concluded after five seasons, and its finale drew mixed reactions from fans regarding its conclusion. Yet, one point of consensus is that the show delivered several truly shocking and outrageous moments. However, those moments didn’t just startle viewers.

Last fall, Ackles, who plays Soldier Boy in the franchise, shared that a scene in the then-upcoming final season left him so shocked he had to leave the set. Now that the series finale has aired, a fan identified the scene Ackles was referring to.

Ackles disclosed at the Purgatory 10 Supernatural convention that the scene he walked away from wasn’t graphic or bloody. It was the Season 5 Episode 3 scene where Soldier Boy discovers Homelander, played by Antony Starr, lounging nude in a bathtub of breast milk. A fan also posted about it on X (formerly Twitter).

Discussing the now-notorious moment last fall, the Supernatural star described walking in and turning a corner. He was stunned by what he saw and responded with “Oh my God” (via ComicBook).

“That wasn’t my line, and I was supposed to stay there,” Ackles shared. “But I hadn’t seen what was going on. We’d blocked it out, we rehearsed it. [But] things changed when the camera was rolling, and I hadn’t seen it. And I walked in and it was, ‘Dear God,’ and I just walked back out.”

“I was like, ‘I’m sorry, I wasn’t prepared for that.’ And I don’t think anybody else will be either,” he added.
