Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s next venture in the entertainment industry might be good for the couple. According to a PR expert, the Sussexes could benefit from the public’s “visceral fascination” even if it came to the pair in the form of criticism or appreciation. They noted that the duke’s alleged plans of “stepping into the scripted drama space” might be a good move. It was reported that the prince and his wife would seemingly produce a film adaptation of the book “No Way Out: The Searing True Story of Men Under Siege.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry can rely on public’s fascination with them, per PR expert
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would reportedly produce a military memoir, “No Way Out: The Searing True Story of Men Under Siege.” Author Major Adam Jowsett penned down his experience on the battlefield in Afghanistan. The duke, who has apparently spent a couple of years in the Islamic country, treated the film adaptation as a “personal project.”
According to the Mirror, a senior PR director, Olivia Bennett, described the venture as a good opportunity for the Sussexes. She noted that Harry’s previous projects might have received backlash as they felt “privileged.” However, this military drama might change the public’s perspective.
Furthermore, Bennett pointed out that whether the media and the public praised or criticized the couple, the two grabbed attention somehow. Markle and Harry could thus rely on the people’s “unyielding, almost visceral fascination with this couple.” That level of global recognition is a permanent, self-monetising asset,” she added.
According to the PR expert, the Sussexes might not need Netflix deals or a “single £100 million contract.” They have reportedly been earning through plenty of “different revenue streams.”She explained, “Between book deals, speaking gigs, tech investments, and As Ever products, they are transitioning from being ‘celebrities for hire’ to becoming a decentralised corporate conglomerate. The fascination with them guarantees they will always have a seat at the table.”
