Starz has set the streaming release date for a horror film featuring The Night Agent star Gabriel Basso. Thus, the OTT platform has finally confirmed when subscribers can check it out. It premiered in theaters earlier this year, suffering a negative critical reception like its predecessors.
The Strangers – Chapter 3 sets Starz release date
Starz has reportedly set the streaming release date for The Strangers – Chapter 3 to June 6, as per When to Stream. It earlier premiered on digital and premium video-on-demand (VOD) platforms on March 6.
Directed by Renny Harlin, the film first premiered in Los Angeles on January 15. It was then released theatrically across the United States about a month later, on February 6. It is the third and final installment of the trilogy that began in 2024 with Chapter 1 and continued in 2025 with Chapter 2. Moreover, it is the fifth installment in the franchise, which includes Bryan Bertino‘s 2008 movie, The Strangers, and the 2018 sequel directed by Johannes Roberts, Prey at Night.
The story wraps up Maya’s intense conflict with the titular antagonists, which drove the narrative of the previous movies. She survives yet another attack from them, following which Maya works to escape the town she is in, while also getting revenge on the masked killers.
Following its release, the film grossed approximately $10.8 million at the global box office. This figure is lower than that of its predecessors, with Chapter 2 making approximately $21.9 million and Chapter 1 having earned an even higher estimated $48.1 million.
Meanwhile, on Rotten Tomatoes, The Strangers – Chapter 3 holds an abysmal 17% rotten critical score. This is slightly higher than that of Chapter 2’s 15%. However, it is lower than Chapter 1’s 21%.
Riverdale alum Madelaine Petsch stars as Maya, while The Night Agent’s Gabriel Basso plays Gregory/Scarecrow. The supporting cast includes Ema Horvath as Shelly/Pin-Up Girl, Ell a Bruccoleri as Jasmine/Dollface, and Richard Brake as Sheriff Rotter. Also appearing are Rachel Shenton as Debbie, George Young as Howard, Pedro Leandro as Deputy Walters, and Miles Yekinni as Marcus.
