The supermodel made this unfortunate confession when asked about her prized Calvin Klein Jeans.
Brooks said that she originally had four pairs of jeans, one of which was donated directly to The Metropolitan Institute of Art’s Costume Institute during its celebrated “Year of the Muse” exhibition.
She sold the second pair at a charity auction, which went “for a crazy amount of money,” which Brooke revealed to be $20,000. As the host appeared surprised,co-guest Palmer whipped, “Is that too much?”
For the final two of her jeans, Shields had a very specific design plan: “The other two pairs, I wanted to frame in plexiglass.” Shields added, “And I envisioned I was, you know, I have this big office, and I’d have one front and one back.”
In a moment of truth, Shields exclaimed, “I can’t find them,” adding, “My heart aches.” Brooke jokingly added that she is counting on St. James to help her find them. Palmer responded, saying, “Oh my gosh, come on, Saints.”
After gaining widespread attention through her iconic 1980s Calvin Klein advertising campaign, Shields developed a lasting connection with the brand’s signature denim, which helped establish her as a pop-culture trailblazer. At just 15 years old, Shields starred in the highly controversial yet unforgettable 1980 Calvin Klein Jeans commercial directed by Richard Avedon. The television advertisement became instantly recognizable for its famous double entendre. Decades later, Shields reunited with the brand and appeared in a Calvin Klein lingerie campaign in 2017, further strengthening her long-standing association with the fashion house.
