Nicki Minaj watches SpaceX’s Starship launch and gives Elon Musk a ‘shoutout’

Elon Musk shared a video of Nicki Minaj’s attendance at the webcast of SpaceX’s launch in Starbase. He captioned the post, “Welcome to Starbase,@NICKIMINAJ!” In the clip, the hosts appeared to be surprised by the Trinidadian rapper’s appearance. One of the hosts said, “I mean, anybody can come and watch the launches, it’s super accessible to the public, we welcome that,” leaving Minaj elated. “This is a lot of fun, I am excited,” the “Starships” hitmaker exclaimed.

She further asked if the launch is about to happen any minute. As such, the host asked her to look at the number rate in the top-left corner. “6 and a half minutes,” the host declared, increasing Minaj’s excitement. “6 minutes left. Oh my gosh, this is historic, this is a major moment,” she said. Soon, the male host asked Minaj whether this was the first rocket launch that she was seeing live. The 43-year-old replied, “Yes,” leading the host to ask her about her feelings regarding this experience. “Very, very excited, I am happy,” she expressed.

Moreover, the female host spotted Minaj wearing a Starship t-shirt, and the latter says, “I love this shirt.” The singer loves the Starship name, and the host asks the singer if she predicted the future. “I do not know,” Minaj hilariously replies. Furthermore, Minaj gave a “major shoutout” to Musk. “Elon, thank you for everything you are doing for humanity,” she stated.

While the hype was at its peak, Starship V3 megarocket’s launch was cancelled and is now scheduled for Friday. “We’re learning about a lot about these systems as we execute them for the first time, and we’re not able to basically troubleshoot all of these issues in those final seconds to get to launch,” Dan Huot, of SpaceX communications, said. He added they will “figure out what tripped us up before launch, and then actually get into a flight tomorrow.”
