Rapper Nicki Minaj has made quite a statement with her birthday post for Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is also the richest person in the world. The “Anaconda” singer credited Musk with “saving free speech,” also allegedly uploading an AI-generated selfie with the tech mogul. Interestingly, this is not the first time that Minaj has showcased her admiration for Musk.
Nicki Minaj drops birthday wish for Elon Musk
The Grammy-nominated musician dropped an eyebrow-raising birthday post for SpaceX CEO Elon Musk on Sunday. Currently the wealthiest person in the world, he celebrated his 55th birthday on June 28, 2026.
Nicki Minaj shared what appeared to be an AI-generated selfie with Elon Musk on his birthday on X (formerly Twitter). In it, both were dressed in black, and she sported her iconic red hair, as the two smiled at the camera.
Alongside the allegedly artificially generated image, Minaj wrote, “Thank you for saving free speech, Elon. Happy Birthday. Love always, From Gag City & the Barbz.”
Meanwhile, the post drew a variety of reactions, including some arguing that Musk buying X was not saving free speech. However, many also seemed impressed with the post by the “Super Freaky Girl” crooner’s birthday wish.
Notably, Nicki Minaj has not been shy about her love for Elon Musk in the past as well. Earlier in May, she pulled up to his Starbase in Texas to see SpaceX’s flight test. The launch was ultimately delayed due to technical errors.
“Barbz, come on down, because this is a lot of fun. I’m excited,” Minaj said back then in an interview at Starbase with members of the SpaceX content team. “This is historic; this is a major moment, y’all.” She further added, “Major shout-out to Elon. Thank you for everything that you’re doing for humanity.”
Days ago, Nicki Minaj also wished President Donald Trump with a series of AI-generated photos, one of which also included Elon Musk and Sydney Sweeney. She has often even been vocal about her support for the POTUS and the MAGA movement.
