Travis & Jason Kelce Unveil PGA Championship Gig Despite Masters Backlash

Just weeks after a moment that sparked no shortage of headlines, Travis and Jason Kelce are stepping back into the spotlight. After facing criticism at the Masters, the Kelce brothers have shared the news of a PGA Championship project on their New Heights podcast.

Travis and Jason Kelce have officially landed a role at the PGA Championship, marking their next major crossover into the world of professional golf. “We do have the PGA Championship here in Philadelphia this year at Aronimink. We are selling some merch there that is centered around the PGA Championship, raising money for the foundation,” the NFL alum revealed on the New Heights podcast, shortly after his younger brother, Travis, teased the announcement. “Excited to don some of this gear.”

Golf fans visiting Aronimink will have a chance to shop Jason Kelce’s Underdog Apparel at the pavilion. The PGA Shop is also rolling out a lineup of Philadelphia-themed merchandise, a move that strengthens the region’s presence in the golf world. Though Jason Kelce wasn’t born in Philly, he has become one of the most influential sports figures tied to the state.

For those unaware, Travis Kelce is no stranger to celebrity golf, having competed in numerous tournaments and exhibitions over the years. He has shared the course with stars like Scottie Scheffler and Brooks Koepka. Most notably, he teamed up with Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes for The Match, where the pair took down Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

Previously on his podcast, Jason Kelce admitted that Travis has the edge in golf, before noting that his own game isn’t bad either. He played in the Truist Pro-Am in Philadelphia last year and co-owns Sullivan County Golf Club. But it was his cameo during ESPN’s Masters coverage that stirred controversy.

Jason Kelce drew criticism during the Masters for his on-course reporting role at the annual Par 3 Contest. Critics said that his football-style energy clashed with Augusta’s quiet traditions, with many viewing ESPN’s move as forced commercialization.
