Sarah Ferguson Assistant Compared Working for Duchess to ‘Fifty Jealous Lovers’

Sarah Ferguson’s former staff story resurfaced with a claim that palace-adjacent work around her felt “chaotic.” The former Duchess of York faced fresh scrutiny after a new report previewed Andrew Lownie’s book, “Entitled.”

The claim centered on one long-serving staffer who compared the job to handling “fifty jealous lovers.” It also alleged unpaid expenses, freebie requests, and strict NDAs. The focus remained on Sarah’s staff dynamic inside her working circle.

Sarah Ferguson’s personal assistant ‘found life with the duchess chaotic,’ claims author

As per a HELLO Magazine report, Lownie’s book detailed the former Duchess’s staff demands. The magazine said the paperback was due to hit shelves that weekend. The report said one long-serving personal assistant “found life with the duchess chaotic.” The book added that the role “was not for everyone.” One quoted staff assessment said, “Some people only lasted half a day.” Then, the same passage compared the atmosphere to “working with fifty jealous lovers.” The report framed the claim around daily demands and private working conditions.

The author also described alleged money and gift issues around the staffer’s time with Ferguson. Lownie wrote that the staffer felt “embarrassed” by what the report called freebie-grabbing behavior. The book claimed Ferguson “rarely paid for anything” and expected products to be free. It also alleged she was “entertained by friends” and “borrowed” security from rich acquaintances. Meanwhile, the report said she was lent couture and “didn’t always return it.”

The HELLO report also claimed staff had payment problems while working around Ferguson. It said the staffer and other employees “often had to buy things” on their own credit cards. The book further alleged that Ferguson drew on Princess Beatrice’s credit card and paid one psychic with cigarettes. According to the report, employees were allegedly made to sign NDAs. The article also cited a request for a daily fresh cream cake. It placed the staff’s claims within a broader, demanding routine.
