Barry Keoghan weighed in on rumors that he cheated on his ex-girlfriend, Sabrina Carpenter, with influencer Breckie Hill. The 33-year-old actor appeared on Benny Blanco’s Friends Keep Secrets podcast for its April 28 episode. He confessed that rumors of cheating and infidelity really affected him, and he chose to disappear from the public eye. Notably, Keoghan and Carpenter dated for roughly one year before splitting in December 2024.

Barry Keoghan confessed on the podcast that he intentionally withdrew from the public eye. This process of disappearing from the spotlight started with deactivating his Instagram account.
At the time, he released a lengthy statement on X, stating, “I can only sit and take so much.” Keoghan revealed to Blanco, “It’s because there’s a narrative out there that was never really even spoken on — a narrative that’s not true, and I never confirmed or said anything about it. You know, I just disappeared.”
The Saltburn star continued, “Unfortunately, having a relationship in the public eye, we all know this from our own stories, but it gets put out there, and it’s like … yeah, amplified.”
As per Keoghan, “a girl made a video” claiming she had been with him. However, she later retracted the statement in a second video. However, fans watched the first video and immediately launched an online attack on the Irish actor.
Keoghan’s silence at the time really cost him his mental health, as there was a barrage of negativity against him on the internet. The Crime 101 star admitted that he was at the receiving end of “absolutely disgusting” and “vile” comments attacking his character and even his family.
The 33-year-old explained, “I’m not asking people to become my fan or like me … I’m asking for people to stop assuming, and also stop jumping on this narrative and attacking me, and dragging me down in any way you can.”
Interestingly, Carpenter has never addressed the cheating allegations.
