New Stranger Things Show’s Runtimes for All 10 Episodes Possibly Revealed

The rumored runtimes for episodes of the new Stranger Things spin-off show, Tales from ’85, have been revealed ahead of its release. Hitting Netflix later this month, the sci-fi drama will be an animated story. It features returning characters from the original series like Mike and Eleven, as well as new ones.

Cryptic HD Quality recently shared the reported runtimes for Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 episodes on X (formerly Twitter). Taking each into account, they are 24-28 minutes in length.

The second episode is the longest, boasting a 28-minute runtime. Meanwhile, the first and last are the second-longest at 27. The sixth follows them, clocking in at 26 minutes. Episodes 4,5, 7, and 8 come next at 25, while 3 and 9 have the shortest runtime, 24 minutes.

Tales from ’85 premieres globally on April 23, 2026. However, fans in certain locations can catch the first two episodes early in select theaters holding special screenings, according to Netflix. These are scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. local time in 34 U.S. theaters. Moreover, screenings will take place at New York’s Paris Theater and Philadelphia’s Netflix House. Furthermore, a few of those who attend screenings will also get an exclusive collectible.

Timeline-wise, the show takes place between the second and third seasons. In 1985, the heroes go on an epic journey where “the original characters must fight new monsters and unravel a paranormal mystery terrorizing their town in Stranger Things: Tales From ’85,” the logline reads (via Netflix Tudum)

Eric Robles created Tales from ’85 and also serves as showrunner. In addition, he is an executive producer alongside the parent series’ creators, The Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy, and Dan Cohen. Robles said of the series’ tone, “It’s got the thrill of being young, being a kid, and going on these thrilling adventures. But then there’s this essence of real danger, real stakes.”
