The Valley is returning for its Season 3, and it will be the first time that Jax Taylor is not at the heart of the show’s cast. Yet, the rest of the ensemble has said that there is plenty of drama in the new season to keep viewers hooked. They have hinted that the show will pivot to its original vibe despite the tensions from the previous season carrying over.
The Valley stars say Season 3 will be ‘lighter overall’
There will be big changes in The Valley Season 3 following the departure of Jax Taylor. He left the show to focus on his sobriety and mental health.
Speaking about the new direction the show may take, Jesse Lally said to Parade, “There’s petty drama, not dark drama.” Her statement seems to hint that The Valley may return to its roots in this season, deviating from the previous one.
Moreover, Lally’s ex-wife, Michelle Saniei, agreed that things would feel different this time around, but not necessarily less complex. “I was going through the beginning, middle of our divorce and some other challenges,” she said of the previous season. “But [this season is] definitely lighter overall.”
In another exciting development, Lacey Nicole, Jesse Lally’s girlfriend, is joining the series on her own accord after previously refusing to appear. She and Saniei had an interaction before, but it did not end up being the smoothest of rides.
“I’m only telling half of my story if she doesn’t join,” Lally said. Nicole, meanwhile, said that she joined for her own selfish reasons. “Selfishly, my ego—I want to defend myself,” she said.
While many seem to take to Lacey Nicole well, Michelle Saniei still has some reservations. She stated, “I’ve just had different type of interactions with her, so it’s kind of hard to grasp and understand.”
On the other hand, Janet Caperna said that there were “definitely some awkward moments” after her fallout with Danny Booko. “It’s not fun to go film with people who you’re not getting along with,” her husband, Jason Caperna, added. Furthermore, the couple revealed that some parts of Season 3 may feel like a “medical drama.” This is because it extensively chronicles the cast’s health struggles.
Nevertheless, it seems that Season 3 of The Valley will have a lot of “petty” drama, but not necessarily lower stakes. Jax Taylor’s absence will also bring a distinct direction to the latest installment. “I think it was refreshing to not have him in the picture,” Michelle Saniei said of Taylor’s absence. “We could talk about other things and learn even more about each couple and each person.”
