John Oliver Mocks Donald Trump Over Not Using ‘War’ Word

Veteran comedian John Oliver has once again slammed Donald Trump for the latter’s stance on the ongoing war with Iran. With the president refusing to use the word ‘war’ to describe the Middle Eastern conflict, Oliver called out. He explained Trump’s reasoning behind avoiding the term by comparing it to the thinking of a “6-year-old.”

In the March 29 episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, the titular late-night talk show host ridiculed the two-time president’s justification for purposely not using the term ‘war’ amid the country’s military operation in Iran.

“The Iran war entered its second month, though Trump tries not to use the word ‘war’ for reasons he probably shouldn’t be saying out loud,” the 48-year-old comedian remarked. Oliver then played a clip of Donald Trump. In the video, he can be seen explaining why he chooses to avoid the word.

“I won’t use the word ‘war’ because they say if you use the word war, that’s maybe not a good thing to do,” the businessman-turned-politician noted. “They don’t like the word war because you’re supposed to get approval. He added, so I’ll use the word ‘military operation,’ which is really what it is.”

Dumbstruck by Trump’s explanation, Oliver responded by saying, “What? He really just talks like a 6-year-old speaking stream-of-consciousness to a stranger: ‘And my mum says I’m not allowed to talk about my penis with other people, even though everybody has one, well, not her and not my sister, but my dad and I both have penises, but I can’t say that when there are too many people around, even though everyone knows ’cause they have their own penises unless they don’t, but I do.”

The seasoned talk show host further stated that, irrespective of the word Trump uses to refer to the Iranian conflict, “it has been chaos.” He then alluded to Trump’s recent threat about attacking Iran’s power grid. He quipped that it “would be a war crime if this was a war, but luckily we now know it isn’t.”
