Sophie Turner is currently involved in the production of Tomb Raider on Amazon Prime Video. The new series, based on the video game franchise of the same name, will mark the first live-action television adaptation of the character. The role has previously been portrayed in films by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is also attached to the project.

However, filming has reportedly been paused after Turner sustained a back injury. Turner rose to prominence for her role as Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones. According to multiple reports, the injury is minor, and production is expected to resume soon.

In a statement to Amazon to Deadline, “Sophie Turner recently experienced a minor injury. As a precaution, production has briefly paused to allow her time to recover. We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible.”

While reports vary, it has not been confirmed whether the injury occurred during filming or outside the set. Sources have indicated that the pause in production may last up to two weeks, with the crew continuing to be paid during this period.

Apart from Turner, the series also stars Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie, and August Wittgenstein.

Meanwhile, Phoebe Waller-Bridge serves as creator, writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner.

No release date for the project has been announced.
