The Internet has not been a linear space, and there have been many trends in recent years that are inexplicable. With the advent of Artificial Intelligence, things only took a turn for the absurd, and now, TikTok is flooded with videos of anthropomorphic fruit cheating on their respective spouses in various forms of narratives. These videos have recently gone viral and continue to grow more outlandish with the passing time.
How cheating fruit AI video is taking over the internet
In a rather confusing turn of events, TikTok has been taken over by AI-generated videos of anthropomorphic fruits. Moreover, in the videos, these anthropomorphic fruits are usually seen cheating on their respective spouses, often with bigger fruits.
The AI-generated videos emerged from TikTok user @trombonechef, who gained a massive following after he posted videos about these anthropomorphic fruits cheating on their spouses.
The first of these videos showed a strawberry woman starting an affair with her eggplant boss. The video proceeded to depict how she ended up welcoming a child that did not look anything like her husband. Over time, the videos grew more and more outlandish.
In later videos, the incidents of cheating fruits have added absurd plots that do not mimic reality anymore. One recent video saw a strawberry woman simply tossing her child off a yacht. Some videos have also been alleged to be racist. However, it is not possible to have a whole verdict with just the fruits on the screen.
The videos are not the best AI can offer. Rather, they seem to be intentionally sloppily made, which could factor into the style of the videos and the narratives. But the trend spread across TikTok very quickly, and soon, other social media platforms also became a breeding ground for discussions around this new trend. For instance, there has been a lot of talk about this trend on X, with most users slamming it.
Irrespective of individual stance on the matter, this fascinating phenomenon seems to welcome a new age of the internet, which is getting harder and harder to decipher.
