Ryan Gosling is opening up about working with one of Hollywood’s toughest legends. While promoting recent projects, the actor shared stories that make it clear his Blade Runner 2049 co-star, Harrison Ford, operates on a completely different level.
Ryan Gosling shares his Blade Runner 2049 co-star Harrison Ford is “that guy”
Ryan Gosling recently appeared on the New Heights podcast, where he spoke about filming Blade Runner 2049 with Harrison Ford. Reflecting on their time together, Gosling claimed Ford left a lasting impression, calling him “not like us” and adding, “He’s that guy.”
Gosling shared a wild moment from set. During a scene, Ford punched him. When the crew brought ice for Gosling, Ford grabbed it for himself, cooled his hand, and joked, “I forgive you.” It didn’t stop there. When painkillers arrived, Gosling said he was about to take two pills, but Ford instead grabbed the bottle and “housed like 15” at once. “He could just house half a bottle of Advil as a joke,” Gosling said, still sounding amazed.
The love clearly isn’t just about fun behind-the-scenes moments. Gosling also reacted to a wild comment Ford once made on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Ford had joked about listening to his own movie soundtracks during, let’s say, private moments. Gosling couldn’t help but laugh it off. He said that’s definitely not his thing, but then added with a grin, “Of course Harrison has.” Gosling even said, “Never meet your heroes… unless it’s Harrison Ford.”
Gosling also brought up one of Ford’s most iconic, almost unbelievable on-set stories. During the shoot of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ford reportedly took things to another level while filming a horse-riding sequence. To keep that famous Indiana Jones hat from flying off mid-action, he literally stapled it to his head. Ford has backed up the story in past interviews and has even shown the scar to prove it.
