The clip featured Zendaya, Schafer, Demie, and Apatow posing for the camera while also goofing around with one another. However, what particularly caught everyone’s attention was the absence of Sweeney from the BTS shoot. This sparked rumors that Sweeney could be missing, as Zendaya might not want her around due to their alleged feud.
A production source recently set the record straight on the feud rumors to TMZ. They mention that Sweeney was absent from the photoshoot, as she was busy filming a scene of the series. They also clarified that her not being included in the BTS has nothing to do with Zendaya, given that they have no beef. Moreover, it states that it wasn’t a promotional photoshoot but only shots for some BTS.
Back in 2025, a Daily Mail report claimed that Zendaya and Sweeney are locked in a “bitter feud,” and they are allegedly refusing to stand beside each other at events. It revealed that the alleged beef stems from their differing political views. A source said to the outlet, “It’s no wonder [Zendaya ]’s refusing to do it. It’s a difficult position for Zendaya to be in because if she even stands next to Sydney on the red carpet, it can be read as her excusing Sydney’s views on Trump and her refusal to apologise for the racist ad.”
Euphoria Season 3 is set to drop on April 12, 2026, with Sweeney and Zendaya reprising their roles as Cassie and Rue, respectively.
