Zendaya talked about working with Tom Holland again. The pair has starred in “Spider-Man” movies in which he plays the titular character, and she plays his girlfriend, MJ. The couple, reportedly married now, will star in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey”, which releases in cinemas on July 17.
Zendaya reveals her experience on working with Tom Holland again
Zendaya detailed her experience of working with Tom Holland again. In an interview with Elle, the “Euphoria” star shared that even though they didn’t share any scenes together in “The Odyssey”, she still watched him from the sidelines.
The 29-year-old actress gushed, “I could have cried, I was so proud. And then ‘Spider-Man’ was a dream; I get to go to work every day with my best friend, the person that I love. We bring our dogs to work; it’s like a family affair. We grew up on those movies! It’s like coming home.”
When the interviewer probed her about the viral marriage rumors, the notoriously private actress refused to confirm or deny them. “No, I’m not going to do that,” she told Elle writer Alexis Okeowo.
Nolan revealed that he cast Zendaya because of her “iconic” grace. He gushed over the actress, stating, “I mean, she’s literally playing a goddess [Athena]; it’s a tall order. She’s a true movie star, but also an incredible actor” (via Variety).
The “Spider-Man” stars sparked marriage rumors after the actress’s longtime stylist, Law Roach, told Access Hollywood the pair had married. Roach teased the reporter by stating, “The wedding has already happened. You missed it.” To which the reporter asked, “Is that true?” and he replied, “It’s very true!” While Holland has avoided any major interviews, the “Challengers” star has largely evaded the topic.
The 29-year-old actress may have gushed over her real-life partner. However, according to Matt Damon, he and Holland grew jealous of Zendaya because of the high praise she received from Nolan. Damon revealed to Elle, “Literally, Tom and I were obsessed with this. She got a ‘perfect’? I’ve never even gotten a ‘great.’ She got a ‘perfect’? He and I b****ed about it for the entire rest of the film. ‘Did you get anything today?’ ‘No, I got a “good” — moving on.’ ‘Yeah, me too.’”
