Britney Spears’ Ex-Husband Compares Her to ‘Iranian Women’

Britney Spears‘ ex-husband, Sam Asghari, has made a controversial comparison between Spears, who has had her share of legal troubles in the past, and “Iranian Women,” who have also faced oppression. Asghari said this during a recent appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, where he also talked in detail about America’s current war with his native country, Iran.

Sam Asghari talks about Britney Spears being ‘oppressed’

Sam Asghari, who was married to the pop icon Britney Spears from 2022 to 2024, spoke about the similarities between his ex-wife and “Iranian women” in a recent podcast appearance.

While talking on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Asghari opened up about the war that is currently going on between America and his native country, Iran. While speaking about this, Sam Asghari also spoke about his ex-wife, Britney Spears, who landed in hot water last week after being arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Spears was reportedly observed driving erratically at a high speed on the 101 Freeway. She was released the next morning but will have to appear in court on May 4, 2026.

During his conversation on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Asghari compared Britney to Iranian women, claiming that the pop icon was suppressed, especially by the media, in the same way as Iranian women were (via TMZ).

After the arrest, Sam said that Spears made a mistake and can come back from it. But he asserted that the media needed to back off from her.

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari married in 2022 at Britney’s home in Thousand Oaks, California. Sam filed for divorce in 2023 after 14 months of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

While Sam sticks by Britney post their divorce, in August 2025, Spears said that her marriage to Sam was a distraction that helped her cope during the hardest years of her life. Sam did not agree to this analysis.
