Jenna Dewan comments on Opera amid Timothee Chalamet’s comment
Jenna Dewan declares opera as one of the greatest art forms amid Timothée Chalamet’s controversial comments. TMZ shared a video of the actress signing autographs and talking to reporters as well. A lady asked, “Jenna, can we talk about the opera? I love that you posted the article saying yes, the opera does matter.” The 45-year-old replied, “Yes. Obsessed with opera and ballet. I love them both.”
The reporter asked, “I mean, do you think Timothée Chalamet is just maybe a baby and doesn’t necessarily know? People are roasting him. Are fans going too hard on him?” Dewan, who had one ear fixed on the lady’s questions, answered, “You know, we have all said things that maybe we regret.”
To which the lady responded, “Right, thank you so much.” The TMZ reporter asked, “So if you had to tell fans and other people, why is the opera still so important?” Dewan replied, “It is one of the greatest art forms. Yes.”
For those unversed, Chalamet had been talking to Matthew McConaughey at the University of Texas, discussing efforts to preserve cinema. The Marty Supreme star remarked, “I don’t want to be working in ballet, or opera, or things where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive, even though like no one cares about this anymore.’”
Realizing the intensity of his comment, Chalamet quickly added, “All respect to all the ballet and opera people out there.” Chalamet shared a clip of the conversation on his socials with the caption, “I just lost 14 cents in viewership. Damn, I just took shots for no reason.” (via BBC). Several celebrities have blasted the “Dune” actor for his brash remarks on opera and ballet. Jamie Lee Curtis asked in an Instagram Story, “Why are any artists taking shots at any other artists?”
