As retirement rumors continue to swirl, Travis Kelce has gotten candid about what he will miss most about playing in the NFL. The Chiefs star made a rare remark about his potential exit from the league in New Heights’ recent episode.
Travis Kelce makes rare comment about NFL
Travis Kelce has addressed the retirement rumors once again in the Wednesday episode of his podcast New Heights. Although the star tight end has not made a decision regarding his future in the NFL yet, he opened up about what he will miss most about the league when he does retire.
“I think it’s just those moments in the big games,” Kelce said. “The feeling of having to rise to the occasion, be there for 70,000 that are counting on you, outside of the guys that you go to war with. Those moments of rising to the occasion in the heat of the battle in the playoffs and all the big games out there,” he continued.
The Chiefs star added, “That’s a feeling I know I’ll never get again. Those are the things you cherish the most. If you’re fortunate enough to be in the playoffs and make runs at it, the satisfaction that you get and the successful feeling of all the hard work you put in is finally paying off, and I think that’ll be one of the things I miss the most for sure.”
Kelce’s remark comes shortly after ESPN insider Nate Taylor claimed that the tight end is returning to the game next season. He stated that the decision has already been made and will be publicly announced soon.
Speaking on Cody & Gold show on 96.5 The Fan, Taylor claimed, “He’s coming back, guys.” He added, “Every indication I’ve gotten is that Travis Kelce is looking forward to coming back. When we’ll know that for sure? That’s really his prerogative.”
Meanwhile, wedding preparations are reportedly underway for Travis Kelce’s upcoming nuptials with fiancée Taylor Swift. However, the couple has yet to officially announce the date of the ceremony.
