After a long-awaited group hiatus, BTS is officially back. Netflix has dropped the first official trailer for BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang, offering fans their first glimpse of the seven members together ahead of their highly anticipated live stream event later this month.
BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang releases first trailer
The trailer is more than just a preview; it is an emotional homecoming for the group’s massive fandom, known as ARMY, while teasing the scale of the upcoming performance. “Seven together, we can do anything,” RM, the leader of BTS, says in the voiceover of the trailer.
While BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang trailer keeps details limited, it shows brief concert footage and moments with the members addressing their fans. Jung Kook says, “So emotional. I really miss them,” referring to ARMY. Jimin adds, “Let’s get back out there!” RM also reflects on the group’s promise to return, saying, “We promised our fans we’d be back.”
The seven-member K-pop group, which includes RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, will headline the live concert special BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang, which Netflix announced last month. The event will stream globally on March 21 and will be the first performance of the band’s new album Arirang, which will be released a day earlier on March 20. The live broadcast will take place in Gwanghwamun, one of Seoul’s most iconic landmarks, with the historic Gyeongbokgung Palace visible in the background.
The BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang’s first trailer closes with a cinematic arrangement of the fan-favorite song “Mikrokosmos” from BTS’ 2019 EP, Map of the Soul: Persona, while the words “The world’s biggest band is back” appear on screen. Each member is shown standing in front of the palace, creating a striking visual reveal that has excited fans who have seen very little promotional material for the album so far.
Following the live stream, Netflix will release BTS: The Return, a documentary film exploring the making of the group’s new album. It will premiere on March 27, one week after the concert.
