Ray J Says He’s Not ‘Suicidal’ After Ex’s Bombshell Claims

After the LAPD was summoned to Ray J’s residence on February 21, 2026, his ex-partner, Shila Hasanoff, claimed that the rapper was “suicidal” amidst his failing health and legal battles. Ray J has told TMZ that he was not suicidal and was perfectly fine now. No arrests were made when the officers came to Ray J’s residence, as both parties seemingly did not cooperate.

Ray J clarifies his ex’s claims

Shortly after the LAPD responded to a battery domestic violence call from Ray J’s residence, his ex-partner, Shila Hasanoff, posted an emotional video, where she claimed that Ray J was suicidal.

Adding about the domestic violence claims, Shila said, “I want to make one thing very clear: Ray J has never put his hands on me,” adding that the rapper has been under a lot of pressure lately. “And whether people want to agree with him or not, it affects him in ways that people would never understand,” she said.

But Ray J has set the record straight with TMZ, claiming that he was not suicidal. “I’m feeling good right now — I’m not suicidal at this moment — I don’t need to call a hotline — I’m perfectly stable,” he told TMZ. “On the night of the incident … She was very aggressive with all the stuff going on … she put her hands on me, and I literally got up out of there — situation like that, you get out of there to settle down the situation — was I suicidal in that moment.”

The rapper added, “I don’t know what I was feeling — she slapped me out of control — I didn’t know if it was March or April, my back tooth is loose — it was a massive blow — Hell yeah I called 911 because I left the hotel and she followed me.” He added about Shila, “Her apology was sincere and weird at the same time — but we’re on good terms.”

Ray J continues to be involved in a legal battle with Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner over claims of defamation. Moreover, there have been severe health concerns for the rapper as well.
