Karl Urban’s New R-Rated Movie Is Decimating All Streaming Movies

Karl Urban‘s recent movie, which arrived on Prime Video two days ago, has emerged as a streaming success. The movie’s strong viewership enabled it to secure the top spot on streaming analytics charts, surpassing other notable releases.

The Bluff is topping Prime Video’s streaming charts

Karl Urban’s The Bluff, a swashbuckler action film co-starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, is now the #1 movie on Prime Video in most international markets as of February 26, 2026 (via FlixPatrol). The film also stars Safia Oakley-Green, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Vedanten Naidoo, and Temuera Morrison, among others.

The film has dethroned the Spanish romantic drama Love Me Love Me at the top 10 movies list. That movie was #1 until recently, but is now #2. It also topples other releases in the list, The Wrecking Crew (#3), Roofman (#4), MR-9: Do or Die (#5), The Smashing Machine (#6), Apocalypto (#7), The Astronaut (#8), Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (#9), and Playdate (#10).

The story is set against the backdrop of the late 19th-century Caribbean. It follows Ercell Bodden, a former pirate living an idyllic life with her family. However, her past catches up with her, threatening her peace. Ercell soon finds herself contending with a band of pirates led by Captain Connor, who harbors a deep-seated grudge against her.

The Bluff holds a 67% critical score and 72% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile, it has a Metascore of 63 and a user score of 5.1 on Metacritic. It has drawn a mixed response from critics, most of which are positive. Owen Myers of The Guardian wrote in his review, “Chopra Jonas gamely commits to the pulpiness of The Bluff, even as it doesn’t ask much of her beyond its impressive action sequences and a few tart one-liners. But there’s cinematic swoop to the movie that you might not expect in a straight-to-streaming swashbuckler.”

Meanwhile, Film Threat‘s Rick Hong said that the film was “fun” even if it wasn’t “perfect.” He commended Jonas for doing an incredible job with the action sequences. He added, “So for an entertaining streaming option, this will do nicely.”

However, FandomWire‘s M.N. Miller felt negatively about the film. He wrote in his review, “The final product is so recycled that the experience becomes innocuous.”
