Brad Pitt’s Son Maddox Dropped His Last Name in Mom’s New Movie Credits

Brad Pitt’s son Maddox reportedly ditched his last name in the credits of the Angelina Jolie-starred and produced Couture. His name was listed as Maddox Jolie, eliminating the Pitt name. The former couple’s son works as the assistant director on this drama movie, which originally premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025.

Maddox drops Pitt surname in Angelina Jolie’s new movie credits

Couture debuted in theaters in France on February 18, 2026. According to PEOPLE, Maddox has dropped the Pitt surname in the movie’s credits, going by the name Maddox Jolie instead. This is the first movie in which Maddox ditches his surname. Previously, when he worked as a production assistant on his Jolie-starrer, Maria, he was credited as Maddox Jolie-Pitt.

Last year, a source told US Weekly that the F1 actor made several attempts to reconnect with his children. However, it caused him a lot of “heartbreak.” The outlet said that he carries “a deep emotional weight” about his family. Moreover, the insider also allegedly claimed that his relationship has been strained with his other kids; he only sees his two youngest kids, Knox and Vivienne, “periodically.”

In conversation with Variety, Jolie shared her thoughts on Couture and how it’s a story she feels very connected to. She said, “I feel like it’s such a personal film. It felt so private that in my mind, it’s probably the one film that doesn’t feel like a film.”

Directed by Alice Winocour, the drama movie centers on an American filmmaker named Maxine Walker. She learns that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer as she arrives in Paris for fashion week. The film captures Maxine’s brave journey as she navigates medical, personal, and professional challenges. Apart from Jolie, the cast members include Louis Garrel, Ella Rumpf as Angèle, Garance Marillier, Anyier Anei, and Finnegan Oldfield.
