Donald Trump’s Son Barron Makes Rare Appearance at State of the Union

President Donald Trump’s son Barron made a rare public appearance at his State of the Union address, joining his siblings inside the House chamber for one of the administration’s most high-profile events.

Donald Trump’s son, who typically stays out of the public eye, sat beside First Lady Melania Trump in her box as lawmakers and guests gathered for the annual address. Barron Trump joined Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Tiffany Trump for the State of the Union. The youngest but tallest member of the Trump family stood out at around 6-foot-7 or taller, towering over his mother as cameras photographed the family seated in the front row.

Behind the siblings sat their respective partners: Jared Kushner, Lara Trump, Bettina Anderson, and Michael Boulos. Ahead of the event, Ivanka Trump shared a sibling photo on social media, writing, “State of the Union Here we go!”

Barron’s appearance drew attention because he has largely remained out of sight during his father’s second term. He did not attend the president’s March 2025 joint address to Congress, and his last official public event before this was the inauguration more than a year ago. Barron Trump is the only child of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. At 19, he is the youngest of the president’s five children and will turn 20 in March.

Unlike his older siblings, Barron maintains no public social media presence and keeps a low profile. He is currently in his second year at New York University’s Stern School of Business. Melania Trump recently shared her pride in her son, saying, “He’s incredible young man, we are very proud of him.” She added, “This time it’s very different because he’s 19 years old and first time he was 10 years old. He understands politics, he gives advice to his father, we talk about it, so very different (via Fox Business).

Though he rarely appears publicly, Donald Trump has credited his son Barron with helping him connect with younger voters through social media influencers.
