Dennis Quaid Gushes Over Donald Trump: ‘Very Genuine’

Dennis Quaid has once again made his love for Donald Trump known to the public by showering the businessman-turned-politician with immense praise. The two-time Golden Globe nominee conveyed his appreciation for Trump in a recent podcast, wherein he described the current president as a very “genuine” human being, while also listing several of his other qualities.

Dennis Quaid talks about President Donald Trump

During his recent appearance on Greg Laurie’s podcast, hosted by the titular Harvest Church senior pastor, The Substance star shared a detailed account of his thoughts about the POTUS.

After Laurie lauded Donald Trump for being “very personable” and “a good listener,” his guest for the evening chimed in by agreeing with the host. Dennis Quaid then noted on The Greg Laurie Show that the 79-year-old president is “very surprisingly approachable and very funny. And really genuine.”

“He wouldn’t be president if he wasn’t genuine. The people who voted for him, they know that he has their best interests at heart, that he is a genuine person,” Quaid added. “I’ve never seen anybody with that kind of energy. People say that about me, but he’s really got a lot of energy.”

The Dragonheart actor then compared Trump’s impact on the country to that of Ronald Reagan, having portrayed the latter in a 2024 biopic directed by Sean McNamara.

“We were a nation in decline. That’s what they told us. Ronald Reagan came along and said, no, we’re not a nation in decline. We’re going there. And we followed him. The same with Trump. With President Trump. My favorite president of the 21st century,” the 71-year-old thespian said.

In the discussion, Quaid also shared his concerns about Hollywood having accepted a far-left ideology in recent times. He noted that being a Clinton Democrat is the “same thing as being a neo-con, on the right side or whatever. What used to be, you can’t be anymore.”

Despite his views on Donald Trump, Dennis Quaid insisted that he wasn’t a Republican. “I’m a common-sense independent, myself. You know, I think I lean more conservative in my head. But…I’m just for common sense,” he remarked. Quaid also stated, “I’m here today to tell you that it’s time to pick a side.”
