Olympics Star Alysa Liu Requests for Her Own Fortnite Skin

Fortnite has built its empire on blockbuster collaborations, and now an Olympic champion is ready to join the roster. Fresh off a historic Winter Olympics run, figure skating star Alysa Liu revealed that she would love to see herself transformed into an in-game character.

Alysa Liu makes a request to Fortnite

Alysa Liu, who recently became the first U.S. women’s solo figure skater in 24 years to capture Olympic gold, opened up about her love for gaming in an interview with USA Today Sports. When asked whether she would want her own Fortnite skin, Liu responded without hesitation, “I would love Fortnite to do a skin on me. I would buy it.”

Her enthusiastic answer immediately sparked buzz among fans, especially considering Fortnite’s long history of tapping into pop culture moments. The game has collaborated with everyone from global music stars and pro athletes to anime franchises and television classics. With more than 70 personalities already featured in its Icon Series, Epic Games has made it clear that real-world achievements and cultural relevance often translate into digital immortality.

Fortnite has recently expanded its crossover universe even further, introducing characters from franchises like Solo Leveling, The Office, and Power Rangers, alongside virtual icons like Hatsune Miku. Against that backdrop, Liu’s Olympic triumph, which ended a two-decade gold medal drought for U.S. women’s figure skating, feels like exactly the kind of milestone Epic might want to celebrate.

Imagining a Liu-inspired skin isn’t difficult either. Fans are already picturing figure-skating-themed emotes, sparkling performance outfits, and perhaps even a celebratory gold medal back bling. Given Fortnite’s flair for spectacle, a skating-inspired cosmetic bundle could quickly become a fan favorite.

For now, Liu has made her interest clear. Whether Epic Games answers the call remains to be seen.
