Laura Ann Tull is drawing attention online after making pointed allegations about Eric Dane in the wake of his death. In a series of social media posts, the former Grey’s Anatomy background actress described the late actor in stark terms and suggested their past on-set interactions had lasting consequences.
Laura Ann Tull calls Eric Dane ‘true evil’
Laura Ann Tull posted allegations about Eric Dane on Threads after a Variety post announced his death. She wrote that he “was a bully and an a**hole,” and in subsequent replies stated, “He was a coward who abused me. Bullied me. Made fun of me.” She also commented, “He just died. I only wish he’d apologized & admitted what he did.”
Tull said she worked for three years as a background actress on Grey’s Anatomy. In a previous essay, she wrote, “I worked on set of Grey’s Anatomy for three years as an extra, but I never spoke to Dane once directly,” adding, “But I did hear him talk about me.” She further claimed she was described as “weird” through a third party and linked the experience to professional setbacks.
In the Threads exchange, Tull asserted, “I am why he was fired from Grey’s,” alleging she had contacted production before his exit. She did not provide documentation or evidence to support that statement. There is no public record confirming her claim that she influenced his departure.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dane’s 2012 exit from the series was due to budget and creative considerations, as veteran cast members became increasingly costly. Dane acknowledged personal struggles, including issues with prescription medication, while maintaining those matters were not the principal reason for leaving the show.
Dane gained recognition for portraying Dr. Mark Sloan, known as “McSteamy,” and later appeared in Euphoria. He died on February 19 at age 53 after disclosing a diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. His family said he died “following a courageous battle with ALS,” surrounded by loved ones.
