Hollywood’s most exclusive after-party is reportedly getting a major reset this year, and not everyone is making the guest list. According to insiders, Vanity Fair has significantly tightened invitations to its legendary Oscars celebration, leaving some high-profile political figures off the roster.
Among those allegedly excluded are United States President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump. While the party has long blended entertainment, media, and political power players, sources claim the event is now refocusing on a more traditional Hollywood crowd.
Trump administration officials ‘haven’t been invited’ to Vanity Fair’s Oscars party this year, per source
Talking about Donald Trump and Melania Trump’s alleged exclusion from Vanity Fair’s Oscars party, one insider told Page Six, “No Trump administration officials have been invited this year.” According to the source, the decision is tied to a broader effort to scale back the event’s size and refocus its identity rather than a singular political statement.
Vanity Fair’s Oscars party was first launched in 1994 under then-editor Graydon Carter. Since then, it has evolved into one of the most photographed nights in Hollywood. In its early days, the gathering was intimate, with roughly 100 guests that included major film stars and cultural power players. Over time, however, it reportedly expanded into a far larger affair.
Now, sources claim new editor Mark Guiducci has cut the guest list by about 50 percent. An insider alleged that the goal is to return the party to its original prestige. “Only a prized invite or an Oscar statuette in hand will get you in the door,” the source suggested.
The insider further claimed that members of the current White House are “on the wrong side of the line” under this new approach. While Donald and Melania Trump previously attended the party in 2005 and 2011, this year appears to be different.
The reported exclusion comes months after Guiducci published a headline-making profile of White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, which included candid portrayals of several prominent MAGA figures. Still, sources insist the pared-down list is about exclusivity, not retaliation.
The 2026 gathering is also changing venues, moving to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Whether the tighter guest list restores the party’s old mystique remains to be seen, but if sources are correct, the door will be harder to open than ever.
