US President Donald Trump recently took to the Truth Social platform to seemingly comment on the 2026 Winter Olympics, in which Team USA placed second in terms of total medals. Trump’s post comes after the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics came to a close. Notably, Team USA recently secured victory in the Men’s Ice Hockey final.
Donald Trump says ‘We’re winning too much’ as Winter Olympics come to a close
Donald Trump recently made his way to the Truth Social platform to seemingly comment on the 2026 Winter Olympics. In the post, he wrote, “We’re Winning too much, it’s just not fair! President DJT.”
The US President’s statement comes as the 2026 Winter Olympics come to a close, with Team USA ending its run with a total of 33 medals. Team USA has been placed second in the total medal count, just behind Norway, which has won a total of 41 medals.
Team USA’s current medal tally stands at 12 gold medals, 12 silver medals, and nine bronze medals. The US Men’s Hockey team also won the country’s first gold in the sport since 1980 by beating Canada 2-1. On this occasion, they were congratulated by Trump on Truth Social. In a post on Truth Social, he stated, “Congratulations to our great U.S.A. Ice Hockey team. THEY WON THE GOLD. WOW! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Moreover, as per The Guardian, Trump also made a phone call to the team and extended his best wishes to the players. In the locker room video circulating online, Trump can be heard saying, “Unbelievable. You were all unbelievable. That team is pretty good you played. You’re going to be proud of that game for 50 years as you grow older. It was amazing. We love you guys. Congratulations.”
He also invited them to the State of the Union’s address and added, “I’ll tell you what – I just told my people two minutes ago. I said, we’re giving the State of the Union speech on Tuesday night. We could send a military plane or something. But if you would like to [attend], it’s the coolest night.”
