The movie, “Melania,” opened to $7.04 million during its first weekend and reportedly grossed $15.9 million as of February 19 in the U.S. As reported by PEOPLE, the U.S. President praised the film in a conversation with reporters at his Board of Peace event on February 19. However, the compliment came with a warning. He said, “She has a very successful movie out right now, like number one. Can you believe this?”

Speaking about his wife, he exclaimed, “Big movie star.” The president jokingly continued, “I always say it’s trouble, because I always say there’s not room in one family for two stars. I told her that we can’t have two stars in one family … The theaters are all packed. Women, especially, they go back, and they see it two or three times, four times.“

The movie was released theatrically on January 30. It delves into Melania’s transition as she navigates the challenges associated with the White House transition before the 2025 presidential inauguration. It also explores how she prepared to be the first lady for the second time.

Melania Trump is also the executive producer of the documentary and wrote a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter) about the movie.
