Killing Eve Spin-off Series Unveils Cast

The BBC has unveiled the cast for its supposed prequel to Killing Eve. Reports about the series, titled Honey, originally began circulating back in April 2025, though the network hasn’t yet confirmed that the show is a prequel to the fan-favorite spy thriller series.

Honey announces major cast members

According to a report by Deadline, Honey’s announced main cast includes Ann Skelly as Martha Schmitt, Nate Mann as Kurt Fischer, Jannis Niewöhne as Friedrich Bauman, and Rory Kinnear as Graham Anderson. Skelly previously portrayed Rachel Reid in Red Rock, Beth Winters in Death and Nightingales, Lady Ethelfled in Vikings, Penance Adair in The Nevers, and Isabel Gore in Four Letters of Love.

Deadline further reports that Martha Scmitt is a younger version of Carolyn Martens. In the original series, Fiona Shaw portrayed the character and received a BAFTA for her performance.

According to the official logline, the series takes place in 1982 in East Berlin and revolves around a female deep-cover agent for MI6. “Surrounded by enemies and constantly under threat of her cover being blown, she tries her hardest to avoid detection by Friedrich Bauman, the new Head of Counter Espionage for the Stasi,” the logline continues. “Finding herself caught between Friedrich and the reckless, arrogant (and incredibly attractive…) CIA operative Aaron Neeland, she is blindsided by desire in this Cold War menage-a-trois.”

Some of the other cast members of Honey are Sonita Henry as Anne Anderson, July Namir as Kamilla Akhmedova, Oliver Cudbill as Stefan Weiss, Victoria Mayer as Ingrid Schimmel, Valentino Dalle Mura as Rolf Muller, Sofia Oxenham as Greta Abstreiter, Julian Niedermeier as Otto Kowalski, and Daniel Zielinski as Tomas Klein. The BBC has produced the series in partnership with ZDF. Sid Gentle, the production company behind Killing Eve, is also developing Honey. Emma Moran, who previously created the Hulu superhero comedy series Extraordinary, is writing the scripts.

Notably, Killing Eve is an adaptation of Luke Jennings’ book Codename Villanelle. It aired on BBC America for four seasons between 2018 and 2022.
