Ex-Prince Andrew’s Name Absent From Official Police Statement About Arrest

Former Prince Andrew reportedly dealt with an arrest on his 66th birthday. The ex-Duke of York was allegedly arrested due to suspicion of misconduct in public office. He was seemingly held at the Aylsham police station for hours. After searching the Wood Farm, Andrew was released, but his name was not taken in the police statement.

Police statement leaves out ex-Prince Andrew’s name after his arrest on birthday

Former Prince Andrew was allegedly arrested on Thursday on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He was held at the Aylsham police station from 8 a.m. to about 6.50 p.m. After being held for almost 11 hours, Thames Valley Police released him. At 7 p.m., unmarked police cars were seen departing Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate. For the unversed, the ex-Prince is currently staying at Wood Farm before renovations at his permanent residence in Marsh Farm are completed.

Thames Valley Police released a statement without naming Andrew. It read: “On Thursday (19/2) we arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office.” It added, “The arrested man has now been released under investigation. We can also confirm that our searches in Norfolk have now concluded.” Andrew was photographed leaving the police station in a black Range Rover, sitting in the back seat. King Charles’ brother arrived at Wood Farm after 8 p.m., entering through a rear gate to avoid photographers. Witnesses also allegedly saw the car carrying Andrew making a long trip from Aylsham Police Station across a private road.

Recently, it was reported that locals oppose Andrew moving to Marsh Farm. One resident said, “It’s frankly appalling. People here are used to living quietly alongside members of the Royal Family, and there’s a mutual respect that keeps things peaceful.” The individual added, “But Andrew is different – his reputation brings chaos with it. With the greatest respect to the King and the wider family, having him here feels wrong.” Another local shared, “Most of us are just baffled he’s been placed here of all places, when there are far more discreet homes on the Crown Estate.”
